we redesigned the goldfish pond area

Hello everyone, First I would to give a moment to all Ukrainian's for all the aggression and war that Russia has undertaken on them. The whole world is thinking of all everyone and admiring the bravery people have for picking up arms and fighting for the freedom of your country, I hope the Western countries will step in soon to aid with forces on the ground.  Whilst war is going on in the world my Mother and myself got stuck into some much needed Pergola redesigning. The Goldfish Pond that we have underneath our pergola was starting to look very nasty, being its under cover the plants we added kept dying as they weren't getting enough sunlight but then we had a great idea to remove all the plants from the water and add some wooden planks to the top of the pond so we can put potted plants on top of the pond. I personally didn't think it would turn out as nice as it did, I am kicking myself because I forget yet again to take some before pictures. I had great fun getting out i...

queenslander aviaries bird toy order

Image
Hello all, How has everyone been of late? Coronavirus reaching its peak here in Australia we are hoping things will start to die down a bit. We have been experiencing several supply chain shortages due to people being out of work due to being ill with Coronavirus, which has made shopping for certain supplies quite difficult. Luckily for my birds there isn't a shortage of bird toys through my favourite store Queenslander Aviaries. I did a HUGE order so I could completely revamp the cages with new toys and perches, I have even ordered a new Java Wood Perch that can sit on my table and allow the birds to be out with me in my bedroom.         The birds absolutely love their Java Wood Perch, I have actually attached some of the new toys that I got in the delivery onto the perch so all the birds can have a play around while being out in my room! I wish Queenslander Aviaries sold taller ones because having three Cockatiels on a small perch does cause them to get a bit crank...

seven fishes betta fish online order

Image
Evening everyone, I am currently taking some much needed time off from my every day job and thought it would be a perfect time to do an online fish order. As everyone knows from my previous blog post that I currently have a Betta Sorority aquarium running but there has been some slight aggression within the Sorority, so I have decided to add five more female Fighters to add to the Sorority. After watching Creative Pet Keeping on YouTube and her using the over stocking method of dialling down aggression within her aquarium I wanted to give it a shot. I have chose some new varieties of female Fighters to add as you can see from the above photos. I have currently moved out two of the female Fighters to dose them with some medication to help heal their fins from being bitten by other bettas, so within a month they should both be able to be added back into the Sorority. I am hoping they all settle well into the aquarium and will help with the aggression levels, I have also released an unbox...

betta sorority aquarium

Hello all, It seems ages since I have done a blog post but I am back with a bit of an update on a new aquarium that I have set up. I have been keeping Male Fighters since I was in high school and ever since I have been keen on trying out a Betta Sorority, I decided to start researching a bunch to see if I could make it possible and as you can tell by the title of this blog post. It was. I must say before you ever attempt to pull off a Betta Sorority you must do heaps of research first, I spent weeks watching videos, reading forums and joining FaceBook groups. Its a very nerve racking aquarium when you first add all of them, I was constantly watching to see if there was any aggression or fin nipping (which there was). Its important to have several spare tanks ready before you get the Sorority going incase you need to get any out in a hurry, lucky for me I only had one aggressor so I made sure to move her on out. She has since been moved back into the aquarium and is getting along with a...
