what has happened in 2024 with me

Image
Hello all! I know what everyone is thinking, a second post within the same month what is going on? I am just super keen to start getting out more post for you guys before the busy Christmas period is upon us and I have no spare time to do them. This post will be a more lengthy sort of post as I am more filling you guys in on what I have been up to and what has changed over the year in my life. Well I will start with what to me was an emotional but also an exciting time, and that was moving out of the house where for the last 18 years I grew up in. So many memories happened in that house, whether they were sad like losing my first family pet Cody or happy memories spent with family that is no longer with us anymore. It wasn't just a house to me, it was my home, my and no matter what the future holds I will forever cherish all those fond times that happened there.  However my partner and myself got to move into our first house together, it definitely has a lot of little fix ups that ...

my bearded dragon had to get surgery

Image
Hello all! It's been awhile since I have posted on here, but occasionally I like to pop on and update everyone on what has been happening in my life. As you know from the title of this post my Bearded Dragon Zeus had to get surgery to remove an abnormal large lump on his back, he has always had an extremely small lump there but nothing to be alarmed about. FROM THIS TO THIS However about a week and a half the small lump grew into an extremely large lump which I knew had to be removed from him now. We took him to The Unusual Pet Vets where they were able to successfully remove the mass from him which has been since sent off to the lab to find out exactly what it was and if any further attention is needed. POST SURGERY I will keep everyone updated on what they find in the results and also the healing process of his wound, but so far so good!     *CLICK BELOW TO FOLLOW MY OTHER ACCOUNTS* - YouTube -  - Instagram -  - X -  - TikTok -

tis the christmas season

Image
Hello again, I wanted to share our Christmas Tree set up this year as for the past couple years we haven't had one to setup but this year I decided to buy one. It's only a cheap one from Target but the tree looks amazing set up in the house, it has ornaments on that my mother has painted over the years. I came across some cool stockings for me to put my dogs and cats presents in, sadly there wasn't any bird or reptile related ones but they will still get spoilt this Christmas! Pet City was also selling a really neat Ginger Bread house for cats to scratch and rest in so I ended up getting one of them to put next to the tree, which Kya my mother's cat LOVES! It's always great fun setting up the house for Christmas with my family. We play Christmas music and just have a great time putting tinsel and ornaments on the tree, what are your Christmas traditions?     *CLICK BELOW TO FOLLOW MY OTHER ACCOUNTS* - YouTube -  - Instagram -  - X -  - TikTok -

better late than never

Image
Hello everyone, I know it has been a hot minute since I have made a blog post but I have had so much happen and change over the past couple years that I would love to document for you all to read. I hope everyone has been well and is having a wonderful December.  Well I would like to start off with the best news (in my opinion) that after six years I have officially resigned from McDonalds. It was a long and stressful time working there but I decided it was time to get out and do something that I will actually enjoy doing, which is definitely not getting abused by customers every shift. I now work for a little bird shop that only focuses the selling and making of all bird supplies, I have never enjoyed a job more then since I started working here. I love hearing about customers bird related stories or being able to pass on my own knowledge to new owners. I have acquired several new pets since I last informed this space on, I think the first additions would have to be my four reptil...

we redesigned the goldfish pond area

Image
Hello everyone, First I would to give a moment to all Ukrainian's for all the aggression and war that Russia has undertaken on them. The whole world is thinking of all everyone and admiring the bravery people have for picking up arms and fighting for the freedom of your country, I hope the Western countries will step in soon to aid with forces on the ground.  Whilst war is going on in the world my Mother and myself got stuck into some much needed Pergola redesigning. The Goldfish Pond that we have underneath our pergola was starting to look very nasty, being its under cover the plants we added kept dying as they weren't getting enough sunlight but then we had a great idea to remove all the plants from the water and add some wooden planks to the top of the pond so we can put potted plants on top of the pond. I personally didn't think it would turn out as nice as it did, I am kicking myself because I forget yet again to take some before pictures. I had great fun getting out i...

queenslander aviaries bird toy order

Image
Hello all, How has everyone been of late? Coronavirus reaching its peak here in Australia we are hoping things will start to die down a bit. We have been experiencing several supply chain shortages due to people being out of work due to being ill with Coronavirus, which has made shopping for certain supplies quite difficult. Luckily for my birds there isn't a shortage of bird toys through my favourite store Queenslander Aviaries. I did a HUGE order so I could completely revamp the cages with new toys and perches, I have even ordered a new Java Wood Perch that can sit on my table and allow the birds to be out with me in my bedroom.         The birds absolutely love their Java Wood Perch, I have actually attached some of the new toys that I got in the delivery onto the perch so all the birds can have a play around while being out in my room! I wish Queenslander Aviaries sold taller ones because having three Cockatiels on a small perch does cause them to get a bit crank...

seven fishes betta fish online order

Image
Evening everyone, I am currently taking some much needed time off from my every day job and thought it would be a perfect time to do an online fish order. As everyone knows from my previous blog post that I currently have a Betta Sorority aquarium running but there has been some slight aggression within the Sorority, so I have decided to add five more female Fighters to add to the Sorority. After watching Creative Pet Keeping on YouTube and her using the over stocking method of dialling down aggression within her aquarium I wanted to give it a shot. I have chose some new varieties of female Fighters to add as you can see from the above photos. I have currently moved out two of the female Fighters to dose them with some medication to help heal their fins from being bitten by other bettas, so within a month they should both be able to be added back into the Sorority. I am hoping they all settle well into the aquarium and will help with the aggression levels, I have also released an unbox...

betta sorority aquarium

Image
Hello all, It seems ages since I have done a blog post but I am back with a bit of an update on a new aquarium that I have set up. I have been keeping Male Fighters since I was in high school and ever since I have been keen on trying out a Betta Sorority, I decided to start researching a bunch to see if I could make it possible and as you can tell by the title of this blog post. It was. I must say before you ever attempt to pull off a Betta Sorority you must do heaps of research first, I spent weeks watching videos, reading forums and joining FaceBook groups. Its a very nerve racking aquarium when you first add all of them, I was constantly watching to see if there was any aggression or fin nipping (which there was). Its important to have several spare tanks ready before you get the Sorority going incase you need to get any out in a hurry, lucky for me I only had one aggressor so I made sure to move her on out. She has since been moved back into the aquarium and is getting along with a...

rest in peace chico

Image
Good morning everyone, I have some sad news to share with you all in todays blog post. Our beloved Cockatiel Chico passed away during the night on Tuesday, he was getting quite old and was less active in the months leading up to his passing. He was a cranky bird, he didn't enjoy being scratched but he did enjoy being out with us whistling away. He has touched many lives around the world being featured in some of my most popular videos on YouTube, he has shown that all birds can be hand tamed if you put some time, effort and love into them. Don't get me wrong he was still not fond of being on my hand but he would never try and bite me or try and fly away like he used too. Now I want everyone to enjoy the photos I fill be putting below, everyone can also feel free to pop on over and watch some earlier videos with him in them.     *CLICK BELOW TO FOLLOW MY OTHER ACCOUNTS* - YouTube -  - Instagram -  - X -  - TikTok - -----------------------------------------------...

jigsaw coming together + house rearranging

Image
Good morning all, Hope everyone is doing well wherever you are reading this from. My week was pretty standard, working, caring for my animals and sleeping. We have also made huge progress on the Jigsaw puzzle you would have seen in the previous Blog post, which you can clearly see now is an African Elephant which once complete I am hoping to hang up somewhere in my bedroom as I have a Safari theme already happening in there but we will see. We decided to make it easier in assembling the Jigsaw that we would have to rearrange the house a little bit to add an extra table in to the mix. Taking the trestle table out of the bird room and adding it on to the dining room table made adequate amount of space to make it easier in finishing the Jigsaw.  Pictured below is what the dining room looked like before the rearranging started... As you can see the Jigsaw barely fits on the table as it is, but now we have HEAPS of room. It doesn't look to bad either. We have another Jigsaw puzzle to as...

a nice weekend + update

Image
Good morning everyone, hope y'all are doing well! Where do I begin with today's blog post. I have been wanting to start a Jigsaw puzzle for ages now, and I finally went out to Mr Toys and purchased one for me to tackle through it. Turns out I needed some team work and I got my Mum and Brother to give me a hand, we have managed to get the outer part of the Jigsaw assembled! Now I won't be telling what the picture on the Jigsaw is because I want everyone to take guess, I will give you a hint...  It's a Safari animal! On another note. Miss Violet is getting so big compared to when we got her, she had her third and final shot on Friday and she is now allowed to go out on walks without the risk of catching Parvovirus. I will be waiting however til she is a little bit bigger in size as I am really struggling to find a suitable Harness for her to wear, they are all so big on her. I have purchased five already and only one kind of fits her but once she gets a bit bigger in size...
